Birds of Prey Centre

Q: How do I find the Centre?
A: Please see the How to find and contact us page for details.

Q: Are dogs allowed at the Centre?
A: Sorry, dogs are not allowed.

Q: Is the centre wheelchair accessible?
A: Yes, the centre has full disabled access.

Q: Are refreshments available in the centre?
A: Yes, we have both drink and snack vending machines.

Q: After paying can we leave the centre and return the same day?
A: Yes the admission fee covers full day access upon presentation of your receipt.

Q: Are there daily flying displays?
A: Yes, the displays are currently at 2pm and 4pm throughout the Summer Season (April to September). Please contact us for details of flying displays throughout the Winter Season (October to March).

Q: Is there adequate car parking?
A: Yes, a large free on-site car park is available with numerous disabled parking bays.

Experiences and courses

Q: Are gift vouchers available to buy?
A: Yes, please contact us for details.

Q: Do you visit schools and clubs etc?
A: Yes, we are available for offsite events and can tailor the event to meet your requirements.

Q: Are refreshments provided on courses?
A: Only on certain courses depending on their duration.

Q: Will I need to bring any equipment?
A: All falconry equipment is provided but we recommend wearing the appropriate seasonal clothing and footwear.

Q: Are you fully insured?
A: Yes, we have full public and employers liability insurance and hold a current zoo licence and public display licence.

Adoptions

Q: Which birds are available for adoption?
A: All of our birds are available for adoption, although not all are shown on the online Adoptions page. If you would like to adopt one of our birds which is not shown, please contact us and we will be happy to arrange things over the phone.

Q: How long does my adoption last?
A: Adoptions last for one year from the adoption date.

Q: How often can I visit my new feathered friend?
A: Your adoption pack gives you the benefit of unlimited access to the centre for one year so feel free to pop along as often as you like, you're always welcome (unless we are closed of course)!

Q: How will my money help my bird?
A: Your adoption fee helps towards equipment, food, accommodation and vet bills for your bird. Part of the fee is also used to help fund our Nest Box Conservation Program, so you'll be helping us care for our wild native birds of prey to ...which is something to be rightly proud of we think.

Q: Will the bird poo on my dress?
A: No, birds of prey don't go to the toilet in flight.

Q: Has Ollie ever flown off with the rings?
A: No, Ollie is always on her best behavior and focused on her special task.

Q: How far do you travel?

Q: We would like to keep it a surprise from our guests, is that possible?
A: Yes, we are more than happy to be hidden away until needed.

Q: Should I check with my wedding venue that birds are allowed?
A: We always recommend you check with your venue and vicar/registrar.
